Roles and responsibilities of this job

To manage and maintain Chynabazar's day-to-day IT infrastructure and operations — ensuring all systems, devices, networks, and software are running reliably and securely. The role serves as the first point of contact for all internal IT needs and is responsible for keeping the business's technology environment stable, efficient, and protected.

Reports to: Business Head

Key Responsibilities:

IT Infrastructure Management : Oversee and maintain all IT infrastructure including servers, networks, routers, switches, and internet connectivity across office and warehouse locations.
Hardware & Device Management : Manage procurement, setup, configuration, and maintenance of all company devices including computers, printers, POS terminals, scanners, and other peripherals.
Software & Systems Administration : Install, configure, and maintain all business software including ERP, POS, inventory management, communication tools, and productivity suites; manage user accounts, licenses, and access permissions.
IT Support & Helpdesk : Serve as the primary point of contact for internal IT issues; provide timely troubleshooting and resolution of hardware, software, and connectivity problems for all staff.
Network & Connectivity Management : Monitor and manage LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN setups; ensure stable and secure internet connectivity across all business locations.
Data Backup & Recovery : Implement and maintain regular data backup procedures for all critical business data; develop and test disaster recovery protocols to minimize risk of data loss.
Cybersecurity & Access Control : Enforce IT security policies including antivirus management, firewall configuration, password policies, and access controls; monitor for threats and vulnerabilities proactively.
Vendor & Asset Management : Liaise with IT vendors, ISPs, and service providers for procurement, support contracts, and renewals; maintain an up-to-date inventory of all IT assets.
ERP & POS Support : Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to ensure ERP and POS systems are functioning correctly; assist in troubleshooting, updates, and user training.
Cross-Team IT Support : Work closely with the e-commerce, operations, marketing, and warehouse teams to support their technology needs and ensure seamless day-to-day functioning across departments.
IT Policy & Documentation : Maintain documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures; assist in developing and enforcing internal IT usage policies and guidelines.

Additional Notes; This is a broad, hands-on role requiring both strategic thinking and on-ground execution. The IT Officer may be assigned additional responsibilities related to technology upgrades, new system rollouts, or expansion to new locations as the business grows.

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 1 year

Other Specification

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field.
1–3 years of experience in an IT operations, systems administration, or IT support role.
Proven hands-on experience managing IT infrastructure, networks, and end-user support in a business environment.
Prior experience in a retail, e-commerce, or multi-location setup is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

Strong working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls).
Proficiency in Windows and/or Linux server environments and desktop operating systems.
Familiarity with ERP systems, POS hardware/software, and business productivity tools.
Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data protection practices.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
Good organizational skills for managing IT assets, documentation, and vendor relationships.
Clear communicator with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff.
