The 17 Global Goals that needs to be addressed are No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health & Well Being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Water & Sanitation, Affordable & Clean Energy, Decent Work & Economic Growth, Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure, Reduced Inequalities, Sustainable Cities & Communities, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, Life Below Water, Life on Land, Peace & Justice Strong Institutions and Partnerships for the Goals.
The leaders encourage everyone to contribute in achieving the Global Goals. Achievement of full & productive employment and decent work for all women & men including young people & persons with disabilities, and equal pay for work of equal value is one of the most important Global Goals to be achieved by 2030. A better workforce and better working opportunities definitely leads to per capita economic growth, higher levels of economic productivity, reduced number of unemployment, etc.
The goal also targets to sustain per capita economic growth in accordance with national circumstances and, in particular, at least 7 per cent gross domestic product growth per annum in the least developed countries. These goals sound very promising for the socio-economic development of the developing countries like Nepal. Full and productive employment and decent work for all women and men, including for young people and persons with disabilities, and equal pay for work of equal value is another major area covered by the Global Goal.
Also, immediate and effective measures will be taken to eradicate forced labor, end modern slavery and human trafficking and secure the prohibition and elimination of the worst forms of child labor, including recruitment and use of child soldiers, and by 2025 end child labor in all its forms. With this global level movement, Nepalese citizens can also look forward to a fair working environment.
The Global Goal will also include issues like protecting labor rights and promoting safe and secure working environments for all workers, including migrant workers, in particular women migrants, and those in precarious employment. The movement will definitely have a positive effect on the world as well as Nepalese society and economy. We, Nepalese should also work together for achieving these goals for achieving a strong socio-economic development and prosperity.
