Job Description

  • Providing Accurate, Timely and cost effective testing of patient samples to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in compliance and harmony with the quality management system
  • Collect and register all the biological specimens with aseptic precautions in respective allotted areas of hospital as per SOPs
  • Performs physical, bacteriological, chemical, serological, hematological analysis and determination of variety of tests on a variety of samples including blood, sputum, urine, body fluids and tissues and others at the direction of professional staff and according to the SOPs
  • Should be aware of quality controls and quality assurance of different tests and equipment in the lab of the hospital
  • Operates and maintains scientific instruments including pH meters, spectra photometer, electrophoresis apparatus, chromatography apparatus, immuno assay analyzers, cell counters, analytical balances, autoclaves, biochemistry analyzer and all the instruments used in histopathology and cytology. One should also be kin to learn any new instruments which may come to the lab at any given time
  • Makes complete quantitative and qualitative urine, stool, semen, hematological and biochemical analysis (manual as well as automated)
  • Responsible for accurately completing records and reports. Should follow laboratory policy for data retrieval, record keeping  and specimen identification procedures
  • Maintain secrecy about patient’s reports and hospital data
