We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Lab Technologist to perform a wide range of laboratory tests and ensure accurate, timely, and reliable diagnostic results. The successful candidate will be responsible for specimen processing, quality control, equipment maintenance, documentation, and compliance with laboratory quality, safety, and infection control standards. The role requires a commitment to maintaining high testing accuracy, supporting continuous quality improvement, and delivering excellent laboratory services.
1. Clinical Laboratory Testing:
- Perform laboratory tests in respective assigned department as per established procedures.
2. Culture and Specimen Isolation:
- Isolate and identify specimens using advanced laboratory techniques, ensuring accuracy and integrity of test results.
3. Quality Control and Calibration:
- Perform daily internal control runs to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory tests.
- Monitor and evaluate test results for validity and accuracy.
- Perform calibration and troubleshooting of testing systems and instruments to maintain adherence to established standards.
- Review Levey-Jennings (LJ) curves daily and take corrective actions as necessary, documenting all steps.
4. Sample Analysis and Turnaround Time Monitoring:
- Monitor turnaround times for tests to ensure operational efficiency.
- Record and document all complications during tests and any corrective actions taken.
5. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records such as daily logs, equipment maintenance etc.
- Perform daily maintenance, calibration, and validation of laboratory instruments.
- Ensure all NC, risk are proactively identified and informed to the immediate senior.
6. Safety and Infection Control:
- Adhere to established safety, environmental, and infection control methods at all times.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of biological samples and chemicals.
7. Additional Duties:
- Recommend improvements to the quality system and testing kits to the Head of Department.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Collect, process, and handle blood and/or other biological specimens according to established procedures in absence of phlebotomist or technician as and when required.
- Instruct patients on proper specimen collection techniques for accuracy and efficiency.
