Job Title: Human Resources and Organization Development Manager
Fixed Term Contract from January 1, 2021 - July 2022 (Probable Extension)
Reports to: Director of Operations

About Teach For Nepal: 

Teach For Nepal currently has 137 outstanding university graduates as Fellows teaching in public and government schools in seven districts. By our eight year of engagement in the community we have impacted almost 30,000 plus children.

Job Purpose: 

The HR and Organization Development manager will be responsible to oversee the recruitment process, design and implement policies and procedures relating to organizational development. You will ensure our organization attracts, hires, develops and restraints qualified employees.

Key Responsibilities: 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Human Resource Strategy and Planning: 

  • To develop and implement Human Resource strategy and roadmap that aligns to the overall organizational strategy 
  • To lead all people related initiatives in collaboration with the leadership team for the long term growth of the organization 
  • To plan for the Human Resource functions in terms of organization structure, employees’ roles and responsibilities and areas of priority

Talent acquisition: 

  • To coordinate hiring of new staff among all departments 
  • To guide talent acquisition initiatives by ensuring development of robust tools for talent selection 
  • To revise and improve Talent acquisition activities and metrics on a periodic basis
  • To develop, engage, motivate and retain policies for talent 

Payroll, Performance and Rewards: 

  • Attendance monitoring and disbursement of salary, advance processing and leave approval 
  • Plan for employee’s performance appraisal; develop tools for appraisal, job evaluation and development 
  • Maximize employee potential; help to amplify their contributions, and leverage their accomplishment to further organizational success 

Learning and Organizational Development: 

  • To develop and enforce Human Resources policies/practices (Eg: contracts, payroll and conditions, succession planning and quality management issues) 
  • To support specific performance improvement initiatives (e.g, 360 degree feedback process) 
  • To lead on the development of a staff skills and knowledge database in order to maximise the diverse talents of the organization 
  • To identify opportunities for performance improvement, for instance, undertaking internal diagnosis, process/system reviews in order to understand barriers and possible solutions
  • To design and facilitate in-house events (e.g, workshops, trainings) as required
  • To ensure sufficient equity and diversity among the workforces 
  • To support change management processes and ensure legal, governmental, and contractual compliance 

Collaboration to achieve vision: 

  • Administration and Finance Manager 

Competencies 

  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills 
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization, internally and externally 
  • Effective planning and project management skills with the ability to set and work to deadlines 
  • Ability to work independently and accurately in a high-paced, deadline oriented environment; make decisions when necessary with minimal direct supervision 
  • Adhere to the changing needs of the organization and employment laws and policies
  • Ability to oversee operations and coordinate with work activities 
  • Accurate candidate screening and evaluation 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage several projects at once 
  • Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills 

Requirements 

  • Master's Degree in Human Resource Management or or any relevant area. 
  • Minimum 4 years of related working experience with at-least 1 year in managerial positions 
  • Candidates with working experience in the development sector will be given preference 
  • Familiar with Human Resource technology including Payroll systems and Applicant Tracking Systems 
  • Financial and budget management skills 
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office, Basic designing and database applications (preferably Salesforce) 

Location: Kathmandu based with few visits in placement communities to deepen the understanding of TFN and its work 

Salary: As per TFN policies
