Department: IT Infrastructure
Reports To: Deputy Operations Manager (IT)

Job Summary:

This role supports IT Operations by handling system administration tasks, resolving hardware and software issues, and maintaining network reliability. It also includes assisting with the configuration, deployment, and upkeep of IT systems, as well as providing end-user support for teams in Nepal and across global locations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

System Administration and Maintenance

Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining servers (hardware and software).
Support virtualized environments (VMware) and cloud services (AWS, Azure, Office 365).
Perform routine system checks and basic performance tuning to ensure stability and security.
Use official RMM tool to monitor system status, manage alerts, and perform patch and update management for secure and reliable operations.

MS SQL Administration

Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases and related components.
Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies for optimization.
Perform regular backups and ensure disaster recovery plans are in place.
Manage database security, roles, and permissions in compliance with company policies.
Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolution.
Develop and maintain documentation for database architecture and processes.

Network and Infrastructure Support

Monitor network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
Assist in implementing network security measures and maintaining VPN configurations.
Monitor and analyze security logs using official SIEM solution, apply updates and patches, and maintain compliance with security standards.

Security and Compliance

Apply security policies and manage user access through Active Directory and Office 365.
Implement and maintain multi-factor authentication using official security tools, monitor access logs, apply security updates, and troubleshoot authentication issues.
Support compliance efforts by following established protocols and documenting processes.

Backup and Disaster Recovery

Manage Veeam backup solutions by scheduling backups, monitoring performance, applying patches, and ensuring reliable data recovery and business continuity.
Execute scheduled backups and verify data integrity.
Assist in testing disaster recovery procedures and maintain related documentation.

System Optimization and Automation

Identify repetitive tasks and create basic scripts for automation under guidance.
Monitor system resources and recommend optimizations.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting

Provide Tier-2 support to log, track, and resolve IT support tickets using a helpdesk system.
Document troubleshooting steps and contribute to internal knowledge base.
Be available to work outside regular hours when required by business needs or system issues.

Project Participation

Assist in system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
Collaborate with team members and learn project management best practices.
Utilize Jira for issue tracking, project management, and workflow coordination, ensuring timely updates and resolution of tasks.

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 3 years

Other Specification

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 3+ years in system administration, focusing on Server Management, Network Administration and Security Management.
Strong knowledge of Operating systems, Virtualization and cloud platforms.
Knowledge of Office 365 licensing and management and its applications.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, VMware Certified
Professional, AWS certifications, CCNA or equivalent are a plus.

Preferred Skills:

Hands-on experience working with enterprise storage systems, including SAN and NAS environments.
Familiarity with configuration management tools used for automating and maintaining system setups.
Understanding of compliance standards and change management procedures within IT operations.
Experience supporting or contributing to IT projects, with exposure to coordination or leadership responsibilities.
Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, NIST, CIA and related best practices.
