Job Description

Javra Software is looking for an experienced self-directed Senior Systems Administrator.  The Sr. Systems Administrator will take responsibility for the management of our information systems. This will involve managing servers (both physical in-house and cloud-based), operating systems, databases, web servers, and managing the web applications we develop and deploy on that infrastructure.

In this position you should expect to be challenged to provide sophisticated systems support to one of Nepal’s leading software development teams. Your users are computer experts.  You will be expected to research and innovate IT solutions thereby maximizing the performance of our teams.

  • Implementation, Configuration and maintenance of various technologies and applications.
  • Assist in the planning, design, documentation and implementation of servers and applications in Production and non-production environments.
  • Troubleshoot issues in various Operating Systems (Window/Linux).
  • Administer and troubleshoot various databases in MSSQL, MySQL and Progress.
  • Design and test new, innovative solutions in a dynamic software development environment.
  • Responsible for backup systems.
  • Be willing to work non-traditional hours when necessitated by business requirements or system failure.
  • Development of monitoring capabilities leveraging Perl or other scripting languages to support high availability service offerings.
  • Implementation of automation enhancements to provide system & software installations, automated recovery procedures, capacity management analysis and reporting.
  • Develop and Utilize processes and procedures that support the above objectives.
