Department: Inventory/Logistics / Warehouse

Job Summary:

A Senior Store In-charge oversees the efficient management of the site's store, including inventory control, material handling, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards at a hydropower construction site. This role ensures timely availability of required items while maintaining strict inventory control, accurate documentation, and compliance with safety and quality standards. They also supervise storekeeping staff and contribute to the smooth operation of the site's supply chain.

Inventory Management:

Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials.
Monitor inventory levels and initiate timely procurement requests.
Conduct periodic physical inventory counts and reconcile with system records.
Classify and code items for efficient storage and retrieval.

Receiving & Inspection:

Supervise receipt of goods, ensuring quantity and quality match with delivery notes and purchase orders.
Coordinate with Quality Control/Engineering for material inspection.
Report and document discrepancies or damaged items.

Storage & Handling:

Organize storage of materials as per manufacturer specifications and site conditions.
Ensure secure, weather-protected, and hazard-free storage environments.
Implement proper stacking, labeling, and preservation methods.

Issuance & Documentation:

Issue materials to site personnel against Material Requisition Slips (MRS).
Maintain issue registers and electronic inventory systems.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports.

Coordination:

Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and construction teams to forecast material requirements.
Liaise with transport/logistics for the timely delivery of items to site sub-locations.

Compliance & Safety:

Follow and enforce all safety, health, and environmental procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storage area.
Ensure compliance with audit and documentation standards.

Working Conditions:

Remote project site in rugged terrain.
Extended work hours, especially during peak construction phases.
Physical activities, including lifting, walking, and inspecting outdoor storage.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 3 years

Other Specification

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Management, or related field.
3+ years of experience in storekeeping, preferably at infrastructure/construction project sites.
Prior experience in hydropower or large-scale industrial projects is an advantage.
Proficient in inventory software (SAP, ERP, or MS Excel-based systems).
Strong organizational, supervisory, and communication skills.
Knowledge of engineering and construction materials used in hydropower projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a manufacturing, trading, or retail industry.
Knowledge of supply chain management and procurement processes.
