Job Description

Roles and responsibilities of this job

The Accountant will be responsible for daily bookkeeping, financial reporting, and inventory-related accounting. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and knowledge of accounting principles. Experience in organizations handling large inventories will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Daily Accounting & Bookkeeping

Record and verify all accounting entries including sales, purchases, expenses, journal vouchers, and adjustments.
Maintain accurate ledgers (general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable).
Handle bank entries, reconciliations, and cash book updates.

2. Inventory & Costing

Manage inventory accounting for over 2000+ SKU items.
Reconcile stock balances between physical count and system records.
Track cost of goods sold (COGS) and ensure accurate costing entries.
Coordinate with warehouse/operations team for inventory verifications.

3. Financial Reporting

Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Generate internal management reports (P&L, balance sheet, stock reports, variance reports).
Support external audits with required documentation.

4. Compliance & Controls

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Assist in tax filings, VAT calculations (if applicable), and statutory requirements.
Improve internal controls related to accounting and inventory.

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 3 years

Other Specification

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
Proficient in accounting software (Swastik) and Microsoft Excel; strong data entry skills are essential.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
