Job Description

Programme Development

Develop a professional programme through the production of documents and tools that enable effective implementation of the programme modality, including; activity and milestone plans, project prioritisation, vision sharing, training plans and installation guides.
Implement clear systems and procedures that maintain accurate data and up to date knowledge of all successes and challenges faced by the programme.
Provide professional programme updates to GAN and partner organisation in English at agreed times.
Identify innovative interventions, teaching methods and changes in curriculum at local, national and global levels that bring positive change in education related issues and incorporate into the programme where applicable.
Documentations of district level events, including successful practices.
Promote a positive culture of high performance, customer care and service, continuous improvement, two-way communication, and teamwork.

Programme Implementation:

Staff Support and Management

  • Aid Director in recruiting suitable CRTs.
  • Act as a Role Model for CRTs and develop, support and motivate them in the quality delivery of the project activities.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor CRT performance, impact and outcome of their work.
  • Engage CRT  in planning processes, leading them to identify links between their work and the delivery of the project objectives.
  • Maintain up to date personnel information for CRTs
  • Ensure monthly action plans reflect CRTs workload

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and strengthen healthy coordination, collaboration and cooperation with government, collaborative partner organization and other likeminded organizations working in the area.
  • Use sustainability/ownership mechanism to gain meaningful participation of community people.
  • Conduct visioning and planning workshops in each school for all key stakeholders.
  • Produce parenting education workshop content and support CRTs to deliver these.
  • Networking and liaising with media as appropriate.

Teacher Training

  • Manage the content and design of phased ECD – grade 3 (4 &5) teacher training programme including consulting and appointing appropriate expert trainers, training methods and tailored progress plans.
  • Coordinated the successful delivery of a residential teacher training course including venue hire, participant logistics and training resources.

Installation of Resources

  • Purchase required resources and materials for the programme at the best available prices.
  • Manage co-ordination and delivery of furniture and resources to field location.
  • Ensure classrooms are delivered to the required programme standard.

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Identify cluster schools and carry out need assessments and baseline surveys.
  • Collate, review and report  measurable outcomes and project deliverables in accordance with M&E assessments and action plans from CRTs
  • Maintain a strategic view to the accuracy and appropriateness of the assessments used to evaluate the programme. Suggest adjustments where they will improve the programme.

Financial Management:

  • Establish and maintain record of programme expenses in a standard format for settlement of advance and reimbursement
  • Plan budget for impending activities and communicate with supervisor  for accuracy and timely release
  • Manage the programme expenditure in accordance with the agreed budget and produce quarterly financial updates
  • Formulate forthcoming annual budget based on programme changes and improvements

Fulfill other appropriate level responsibilities as demand of the programme.
