Manage general inventory of the Kitchen
- Ensure that there is enough stock of food items for pizza making in the inventory
- Monitoring inventory and placing orders for more supplies as needed
- Suggest the management if there is any problem with the quality of the raw materials used and advise on a better option that can be used instead
- Inform the management when any technical issue arises in the kitchen i.e. need of new utensil, problem in the oven or any critical issue that can hamper the work and quality of food
Responsibilities
- Preparing pizza dough, sauces, and various toppings, such as tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, onions, and meats
- Monitoring the temperature of the pizza ovens as well as cooking times
- Preparing high-quality pizzas according to company recipes
- Cleaning workstations before pizza preparation
- Ensuring that all utensils and cooking equipment are sterilized before each use
- Plating or packaging pizzas accordingly
- Managing all food order slips and ensuring that customers’ orders are completed in a timely manner
- Disposing of expired or spoiled ingredients at the end of each shift
Supervise the kitchen helper
- Assign day to day work to the kitchen helper i.e. cleaning the kitchen area, mopping the floor, doing the dishes, folding the delivery pizza boxes and many more;
- Train the helper to distinguish between various toppings, prepare dough, sauces and eventually the pizzas itself with same finesse that the chef prepares;
- Ensure smooth coordination and communication between kitchen helper, chef and delivery boys for efficient work.
- Groom and train other chefs when needed for business extension
Other
- Execute any other tasks as given by the management of Mozzo`s pizza within one’s capacity
- Maintain the secrecy of the recipes and refrain from disclosing any confidential information from the workplace
- Refrain from working in any other organization as a chef or in any other capacity
- Ability to easily adapt to changing contexts, technologies, and approaches when necessary; ability to make improvements in own work area
