Under the overall supervision of the Senior Manager of Knowledge Management and Communication (KMC) and in close consultation with the Knowledge Management Officer (Web) and Design staff, the Photographer/Photo Editor will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Upload/migrate all digital photos into the photo database system, tagging them with metadata including subject, location, description, and keywords; edit photos when required
• Develop and improve the system for improved features and usability in collaboration with the technical developer of the system
• Instruct interested staff on how to use the system (how to upload their own photos and how to perform searches)
• Proactively seek photos from staff for inclusion in the collection and encourage staff to contribute
• Work as ICIMOD’s official photographer, documenting the centre’s events and incorporating the photos into the database
• Document ICIMOD activities in the field (through photography and video) upon request of programmes and initiatives
• Assist in identifying appropriate photos for technical and general publications and websites
• Assist in photo competitions organized by ICIMOD
• Advise and train ICIMOD staff in taking photographs and video recordings in the field
• Develop and maintain a roster of photographers and videographers for use in the region
