ESSENTIAL:

Experience

Minimum of two years farming and agriculture work and/or volunteer experience
Minimum of two years supervisory and management experience (HR, Finance, Resource)

Skills

Excellent communication skills in Nepali and English (written and spoken)
Knowledge of various farming and agriculture concepts, methods and techniques
Able to supervise and manage a staff team of approximately 20 that have different professional backgrounds.
Able to communicate to a wide variety of international and national partners
Excellent ITC skills; including social media
Excellent facilitation and training skills

Adaptable, flexible and able to work well under pressure
A team player and able to work own initiative
Able to travel to various regions in Nepal

Job Description

To facilitate and teach organic and sustainable farming concepts, methods and techniques to a range of national and international participants
Work closely with the directorship in developing annual strategic and operational plans
Implement and manage operational activities as outlined in the operational plans
Management of farm-based staff ensuring work is performed in line with strategic and operational plans and policy
To work closely with local supervisors and consultants ensuring work adheres to organisational policies and annual plans
To implement policies (HR, Finance, Health and safety) at an operational level
To provide regular staff supervision and management sessions
To provide annual work reviews supporting the professional development of staff members
Manage and oversee all aspects of the farm and training centre, including care of live animals
Event management, coordination and facilitation of the Herb Nepal training program, including community specific events
Identify and manage required resources and delegate, where appropriate to staff members
Identify and highlight new opportunities for community development and interaction
Provide monthly, quarterly and annual management reports as required to the directorship
To provide regular updates of organisational progress, problems and solutions
Manage accurate accounts and reports
Ensure organisation documents are complete, current and appropriately stored
Attract new business and increase income streams in collaboration with the directorship
Develop, support and facilitate trainings and workshops on-site
To act as a focal person for visitors to the farm and training centre
To actively engage with and develop a positive relationship with the local community
To promote an inclusive and diverse environment that positively challenges discriminatory and oppressive behaviours
To complete tasks as required by the directorship
To occasional work out of office hours as required by the directorship
