The Executive Search Unit (ESU) of merojob, on behalf of its client, is seeking a highly capable Operations Manager to oversee and strengthen the operational functions of a leading destination management organization. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless execution of multi-destination travel experiences by providing strong operational leadership, strategic planning, and performance oversight. This role requires a hands-on professional who can coordinate logistics, drive process improvements, and maintain exceptional service quality across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day operations including logistics, itinerary management, service coordination, and execution of travel programs.
Lead operational planning and execution to support organizational goals and deliver high-quality travel experiences.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and internal operational procedures.
Implement performance indicators, monitoring tools, and quality assurance practices to enhance operational efficiency.
Support technological integration for process streamlining and improved communication.
Identify gaps in existing processes and recommend effective solutions for improvement.
Manage end-to-end travel logistics including transportation, accommodations, permits, guides, and activity coordination.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless service delivery across destinations.
Anticipate operational risks and ensure effective contingency planning and emergency preparedness.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives to ensure operational sustainability.
Optimize resource usage while maintaining high service standards and operational quality.
Identify opportunities for enhancing productivity and cost efficiency.
Supervise and support operations staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Coordinate with sales, reservations, product development, and customer service teams to align operational activities with client expectations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, partners, and local service providers.
Ensure that every trip is executed with precision, safety, and customer satisfaction at the forefront.
Handle escalated issues, operational challenges, and client concerns with professionalism and urgency.
Promote a culture of customer-centered service excellence across the operations team.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field.
Proven experience in operations management, preferably within the travel and tourism industry.
Strong leadership and team management abilities with experience overseeing dynamic field operations.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills.
Hands-on experience in logistics, planning, budgeting, and vendor management.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and perform well under pressure.
Familiarity with Nepalese culture and geography is an added advantage.
Knowledge of digital tools and operational systems is preferred.
