Operations Analyst - Coordinator

Hydroplan Group has provided services to the renewables sector (mainly hydropower) for more than 30 years.  There are three parts to the group:-

  • Environmental, Research & Consents
  • Design, Engineering and Project Management
  • Asset Management including Operations, Maintenance and Monitoring
Renewable Energy (Hydropower and Solar) will dominate future energy systems and Storage / Private HV networks will be key features. Hydroplan  already has the breadth and scope to tackle the challenges of all these sectors.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 5 years experience in hydro or wind operations would be desirable
  • Strong quantitative, writing, communication, and analytical skills
  • High proficiency in MS office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Able to work within a dynamic environment with good attention to detail
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and self-manage priorities against multiple tasks
  • Able to communicate in clear English language to external people in an approachable manner


Job Description

  • Remote monitoring of Renewable Energy Stations
  • Data interpretation 
  • Produce high quality daily reports or documentation as appropriate to the role and follow quality procedures for their release. 
  • Review and optimise existing methods or gather raw hydro turbine and other operational data and automating the process of generating KPIs for benchmark systems
  • Collaborating with research and development to support the roll out of new tools and methods.
  •  Support the quality assurance process for deliverables created by others in the organisation.

Shift work

  • The post will be required to undertake some shift work (early or late)
  • Weekend work will be required regularly
  • Overtime will be paid where appropriate
