Location: Field-Based

We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to oversee geotechnical investigations, slope stability assessment, slope protection and stabilization, landslide mitigation, road reinstatement, and construction material testing. The role involves providing technical recommendations, supervising site activities, ensuring quality and compliance, preparing technical reports, and coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct and supervise geotechnical investigations, including soil and rock investigations, field testing, sampling, and data collection.
Assess slope conditions and perform slope stability analysis to identify potential failure mechanisms and risks.
Prepare appropriate recommendations for slope protection, slope stabilization, remedial works, and mitigation measures.
Prepare and review technical calculations, analysis, and reports based on field investigation and testing results.
Prepare material testing and quality control plans as per project and client requirements.
Closely monitor testing and construction activities and ensure compliance with relevant codes, specifications, and standard practices.
Supervise and monitor slope stabilization works, including drilling, soil nailing, rock bolting, anchoring, grouting, shotcrete, wire mesh installation, retaining structures, and drainage works.
Monitor and provide technical support for road settlement treatment, landslide mitigation, road reinstatement, and rehabilitation works.
Prepare site mobilization plans and coordinate site investigation and testing activities.
Conduct site visits as required and provide technical recommendations based on site conditions.
Calculate and review design mix proportions for cement concrete and asphalt concrete in accordance with relevant codes and guidelines.
Supervise and support construction material testing and quality control activities.
Work closely with and provide technical guidance to laboratory technicians, sub-engineers, and site personnel.
Prepare, review, check, and approve test reports and technical reports.
Prepare and update reporting formats in accordance with relevant codes, specifications, and project requirements.
Ensure proper recording, maintenance, and management of field and laboratory testing data.
Ensure the proper operation and good condition of testing and investigation equipment.
Manage and maintain the calibration and maintenance schedule of laboratory and testing equipment.
Operate relevant investigation and testing equipment and collect data as required.
Prepare technical proposals, bid documents, and other documents related to geotechnical investigation and testing services, as required.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams regarding geotechnical and slope stabilization matters.
Perform any other duties commensurate with the role as assigned by the Head or Team Leader.

Required Education Level:Graduate (Masters)

Required Experience:More than 1 year

Other Specification

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
Minimum 1 year or more of working experience in geotechnical investigation, slope protection/stabilization, road construction, and road reinstatement works.
Experience in slope stability assessment and analysis, including identification of potential slope failure mechanisms and recommendation of appropriate stabilization and mitigation measures.
Experience in soil and rock investigation, geological logging, and interpretation of geotechnical data.
Experience in slope protection and stabilization works, including soil nailing, rock bolting, ground anchoring, shotcrete, wire mesh installation, retaining structures, gabion works, and drainage systems.
Experience in landslide mitigation, road settlement treatment, road reinstatement, rehabilitation, and maintenance works.
Experience in supervising and monitoring drilling, anchoring, grouting, testing, and other geotechnical works.
Experience in construction material testing and quality control of soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel, and other construction materials.
Experience in preparing geotechnical investigation reports, slope stability reports, material testing reports, and technical recommendations.
Proficiency in relevant geotechnical and slope stability analysis software.
Good knowledge of relevant codes, standards, specifications, and construction practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and report-writing skills.
Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
A Valid vehicle driving license is compulsory.
