Job Description

Job Description:

Days for Girls Nepal is currently looking for a Country Director for our Kathmandu-based office. The Country Director will provide on-the-ground management for local DfG Programming, in addition to overseeing and coordinating the DfG Nepal Center Staff. This is a dynamic position that requires strong management skills, project management experience, and passion for women’s health. The Country Director will work closely with DfG International on global strategy, Enterprise Programming growth & development, and assessment of programming and outcomes.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Leadership of Nepal Country Team:

  • The Country Director will provide general leadership and guidance to other Days for Girls Nepal program staff and contractors
  • The Country Director will ensure that all programmatic, business, and operating decisions are aligned with the Days for Girls International vision to reach every girl with ready, feasible access to quality sustainable hygiene & health education by 2022
  • Manage in-country staff including creating work delegation strategies, leading capacity building trainings, and implementing performance reviews
  • Leading weekly staff meetings and ensuring that all staff members hand in reports & goal setting as required by Country Center
  • The Country Director will support country staff with refresher training sessions to ensure highest program and production quality
  • The Country Director will ensure observance of all quality control and inventory systems within the Center

Program Development:

  • The Country Director will work in coordination with the DfGI team to develop program implementation plans, and to execute them in a timely manner
  • Implement Days for Girls International's vision in Nepal and ensure that all in-country initiatives are in line with the organization's overall mission
  • Analyze programmatic impacts making appropriate changes to existing programs and develop new programs and initiatives as needed
  • Responsible for managing and expanding on pre-existing monitoring and evaluation systems

Partnership Development:

  • Identify, build and manage collaborative relationships with partner organizations
  • Ensure that all programs are implemented as agreed upon in contracts and MOUs
  • Collect data from team members to be included in partner reports
  • Develop and implement media & marketing plan including regular social media posts through DfG platforms (Facebook, etc), and seeking opportunities for local representation (at conferences, in newspaper, or other media)

On-Going Program Management:

  • Ensure funds are spent responsibly and in line with Days for Girls mission and vision
  • Manage and build on Days for Girls Nepal’s sustainable business plan
  • Participation in bi weekly Skype meetings with the Program Director, of Asia & Latin America and the International Team
  • Creation and submission of Quarterly Activity Reports
