Business Development Officer

Doko Recyclers (DR), a social enterprise, is the leading provider of comprehensive waste and environmental services in Kathmandu Valley and outside. DR serves customers in residential, commercial, industrial and municipal markets throughout the valley.

We implement methods to help you segregate waste at its source into different categories before it enters our waste stream. Once it enters our waste stream we continue to separate your waste into different recyclable categories ensuring that the right materials get to the right industries. These industries then extract and reuse existing resources from the waste you give us to create new goods. Our shredding, e-waste, and composting services in addition to our waste pick ups, awareness training workshops, and waste segregation infrastructure setup all allow you to do this instinctively in your own homes and office spaces.

Job Description

Business Development 

  • Establish, grow, and manage existing and new strategic initiatives aimed at increasing scrap volumes and generating revenues for the company. 
  • Offer strategic advice, leadership, and day-to-day management in order to grow the business.
  • Create a scalable process for communicating and engaging with clients and scrap partners. 
  • Build partnerships with industry leaders in recycling and waste management post processing facilities. 
  • Travel occasionally to the field to assess and build relationships with vendors in the informal and industrial sector to increase waste volumes. 
Outreach and Marketing

  • Actively contribute to growing our clientele base by pitching our services at a B2B level including the unique features and benefits of our services. 
  • Assist in establishing effective communication mechanisms - within the team and with clients, especially through regular feedback. 
  • Assist in the clientele process by providing clients with recommendations on the right fit for recycling setup options, and sharing proposals and contracts, among others.
  • Improve our service delivery by getting regular feedback from clients and incorporating them in the existing system.
  • Achieve assigned monthly and quarterly sales targets by creating effective strategies.
  • Represent the company at meetings and events related to waste management and sustainability. 
Shredding Services and Tender Biddings

  • Develop and execute strategies for shredding services offered by the company. Establish a continuous flow of inquiries through regular revision of the strategy.
  • Identify and convert new leads, and develop and maintain the existing relationships for the shredding services.
  • Apply and secure tenders and assets disposing calls from Government, Corporates & Institutions. Actively seek scrap tenders and work on the application process to fulfill required criteria.
What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field- business administration, marketing or related fields.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must have own two wheeler and two wheeler licence. Should be able to travel as needed.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical, problem-solving and management skills.
  • Strong negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
