We are looking for a proactive and commercially driven Procurement & Supply Chain Officer to strengthen our procurement operations.

Position Overview

The Procurement & Supply Chain Officer will be responsible for vendor sourcing, purchase order management, supplier negotiations, material planning, and delivery coordination. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of construction materials, market pricing, and procurement practices within Nepal's construction or building materials industry.

Location: Kathmandu (with periodic market visits across Kathmandu Valley)
Reports To: Managing Director / Operations Lead
Industry: Construction, Building Materials, Hardware, or Infrastructure (Mandatory Experience)

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Purchase Order Management

Prepare, issue, and track Purchase Orders (POs) based on approved project requirements and budgets.
Source construction materials, equipment, and services from reliable suppliers.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and long-term agreements with vendors.
Maintain updated supplier databases, price comparisons, and procurement records.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and project timelines.

Material Planning & Supply Chain Coordination

Review Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and project schedules to forecast material requirements.
Coordinate with project engineers and site teams to ensure timely material deliveries.
Monitor procurement schedules to avoid project delays or unnecessary inventory.
Verify supplier invoices, delivery notes, and purchase documents against approved Purchase Orders.
Track material deliveries and resolve supply-related issues promptly.

Vendor Development & Market Intelligence

Identify and evaluate new suppliers to strengthen the vendor network.
Conduct regular market visits to monitor pricing trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Build strong relationships with suppliers, hardware dealers, and distributors.
Research and recommend new construction materials, products, and procurement solutions that improve project efficiency.

Logistics & Coordination

Coordinate transportation and delivery schedules with suppliers and logistics providers.
Confirm material receipt with site teams and resolve discrepancies in quantity or quality.
Maintain proper documentation of procurement transactions and inventory records.
Support inventory planning to minimize shortages and excess stock.

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 2 years

Other Specification

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (BBA/BBS), Supply Chain Management, Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 2–4 years of procurement or supply chain experience in the construction, building materials, hardware, or infrastructure sector (mandatory).
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and supply chain operations.
Ability to understand construction BOQs and material schedules.
Practical knowledge of construction materials such as cement, reinforcement steel, structural steel, aggregates, roofing materials, tiles, plumbing, and finishing products.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and procurement or ERP systems.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Willingness to travel within Kathmandu Valley for supplier meetings and market visits.
