Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Sr. Officer / Officer – Procurement to manage the end-to-end procurement of raw materials, consumables, spare parts, and services for our steel manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and negotiating with suppliers, maintaining strong vendor relationships, coordinating with internal departments and logistics partners, and ensuring timely, cost-effective procurement while supporting uninterrupted production and complying with company policies and procurement procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage procurement of raw materials, consumables, spare parts, and services required for steel manufacturing operations.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure optimum quality, pricing, and delivery terms.
Ensure timely procurement while maintaining cost efficiency and operational continuity.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with user departments for procurement planning and replenishment.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and identify alternative sourcing opportunities.
Prepare purchase orders, procurement reports, and other relevant documentation.
Coordinate with logistics partners and suppliers to ensure smooth material movement and timely deliveries.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, and internal controls.

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 3 years

Other Specification

Bachelor's degree in Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in procurement, logistics, supply chain, or a similar role, preferably in the steel or cement industry.
Strong negotiation, vendor management, and coordination skills.
Good understanding of transportation, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (preferably SAP).
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
