Dalit Jan–Kalyan Youth Club (DJKYC) is a social development organization established in Lahan Municipality Ward No.-10 Gudigaw, formed by dalits which has been continuously implementing Dalit Empowerment campaigns after getting its legally registration in 2000 in activeness of dalit youths, DJKYC, organizing Right-based campaign programs like grouping meeting, discussion, workshop, interaction, training, opposition, slogan, rally and unviewed for social justice along public advocacy on Dalits collective issues eg. Caste-based discrimination and untouchables, mainly issues of rights and rights related to Human Rights with Dalits, poor, Women and children has been promoting through ever circulating result oriented campaign of them. In that's way, it has been circulating awareness campaign, empowerment campaign and income generating. Dalit Jan kalyan Youth club has targeted transformation of current conflict of country in peace, conflict victim women, men and children for awareness generating campaign, skill Development training for income generating, organizing for peace through group formation and mobilization and micro-finance program. It has been affiliated in SWC (social weffare council) at 2001 and in Eastern Region Dalit NGO federation (DNF) at 2003.

Project: Harwa Charwa Empowerment Project

Position Summary:

The social mobilizer will be a response to creating a fantastic community through social mobilization and daily communication with the program coordinator. Her or his ability contributes to community mobilization. Report to the program coordinator in Nepali or English, and prepare the time sheet and attendance on time.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educational qualification: Intermediate level (+2) in any subject or equivalent to so. 
  • He/she who has worked in Harawa Charwa, land right, livelihood and education based program at least 2 years will be deemed appropriate for the position. The idea candidate should have contributed in creation of a community especially marginalized which has been uplifted from Harwa Charwa project. The candidate who has been actively working for Dalit and women community will be given preference

Required Skills, Knowledge & Competencies:

  • Review day to day planning.
  • Mobilize in field and work with communities groups.
  • Coordinate with government to do the work.
  • Motivate the community to involve in income generation and education.
  • Mobilize child clubs children smoothly and link in government services.
  • Monitoring of revolving fund and mobilize it smoothly in groups.

Supervision:

  • This position is supervised by and reports to the Project Coordinator

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Mobilize regularly in target working area.
  • Supporting to HC for getting their rights from local government.
  • Facilitate formation of appropriate village level conservation forums. for complementation of the project activities; 
  • Facilitate registration process of newly established CBOs;
  • Conduct regular meetings with local CBOs, maintain and keep meeting records; 
  • Facilitate in development Planning for linking with local government to allocate budget.
  • Collect and compile baseline information on Harawa Charawa issues of the project area;
  • Facilitate the field team in conducting field surveys, resource need assessments and participatory appraisals in the project Harawa Charawa.
  • Keep close coordination and liaison with field team, communities and partners and assist all in data collection from the field; 
  • Help the technical staff in organizing community meetings, workshops and campaigns; 
  • Take lead in resolution and management of the relevant community conflicts over common resource utilization in the project area; 
  •  Help build linkages of the project community and local institutions with partner organizations, donor agencies and development players, working both in and outside the project area; 
  • Document and share lessons learnt, achievements and successes from the field; 
  • Prepare site specific activities related work plans in accordance with the project outputs and in consultation with Project Manager.
  •  Reporting to PC in end of Month in written through email and technological as what's up, Viver and etc. 
  •  Perform any other task assigned by the supervisor.
