Job Description

Roles and responsibilities of this job

Site set-up and surveying:
- Performing initial site surveys to establish benchmarks and reference points.
- Setting out the construction layout according to approved drawings.
- Establishing site control points and monitoring levels throughout construction.

Technical design review and interpretation:
- Checking construction drawings and specifications for accuracy and clarity.
- Identifying potential technical issues and proposing solutions.
- Liaising with the design team to address design changes or clarifications.

Construction supervision:
- Overseeing the work of subcontractors, ensuring they comply with project specifications and safety regulations.
- Monitoring construction activities, including quality control checks on materials and workmanship.
- Managing the construction schedule and identifying potential delays.

Problem-solving and decision-making:

Identifying and resolving technical issues that arise during construction.
Making informed decisions on site to maintain project progress within budget and schedule.

Safety management:

Implementing and enforcing safety procedures on site.
Conducting safety inspections and addressing safety concerns.
Ensuring all workers are properly trained and equipped with necessary safety gear.

Documentation and reporting:

Maintaining detailed site diaries and progress reports.
Recording and documenting variations from design plans.
Preparing technical reports for the project manager and client.

Stakeholder communication:
- Liaising with the project manager, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to address concerns and coordinate work activities.
- Attending project meetings and providing technical input .

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 4 years

Other Specification

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field;
4 or more years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in Building construction or infrastructure projects.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and structural analysis tools.
Strong knowledge of of building construction methods and materials with engineering principles, codes, and standards related to civil engineering.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Attention to detail and quality control measures.
Leadership abilities to manage subcontractors and site teams.
Understanding of relevant building regulations and safety standards .
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
