Senior MEP Engineer - Hospitality Construction

Core Disciplines:

• Mechanical: Focuses on Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, central utility plants, and energy modeling to maintain optimal indoor air quality and temperature.
• Electrical: Designs power distribution, lighting, emergency power systems, and telecommunication networks within the structure.
• Plumbing: Manages the supply of potable water, wastewater drainage, fuel piping, and fire suppression systems.
• Load Calculations: Determines exact heating, cooling, and electrical load capacities required for specific rooms and building types.
• Code Compliance: Ensures all system designs meet local, national, and international building and safety standards.
• Clash Detection: Identifies and resolves spatial conflicts before construction begins (e.g., ensuring ductwork doesn't clash with structural beams) using 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM).
• Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Establishing strict schedules for chillers, boilers, backup generators, and water treatment to avoid luxury service interruptions.
• Team Leadership: Managing shifts of technicians, engineers, and external contractors.
• Compliance & Safety: Enforcing local building codes, fire protection, and strict health and safety standards.
• Energy Management: Auditing utility consumption and optimizing Building Automation Systems (BAS) to reduce operating costs.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
• Experience: 10+ years in MEP project management, with at least 5 years explicitly managing large-scale luxury hospitality or 5-star hotel developments.
• Technical Skills: Deep understanding of HVAC central chiller plants, low-voltage systems, local building codes, and building automation systems.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional stakeholder management to liaise with hotel operators, consultants, and contractors.
