The Executive Search Unit at merojob is actively seeking a compassionate and qualified Residential Health Assistant for one of its clients in the mental health care sector. The role involves supporting the overall physical and mental well-being of residents in a psychiatric care home through attentive, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will assist in daily health monitoring, provide support in psychosocial rehabilitation activities, and work closely with clinical and care teams. This position requires a strong sense of empathy, patience, and a commitment to promoting recovery, dignity, and the well-being of individuals living with mental health challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Gather and maintain patient information and records including social or medical history obtained from residents, relatives, or other professionals
Collect medical information from residents, family members, or other medical professionals to support care planning
Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other psychiatric staff to discuss treatment plans and monitor progress
Perform regular check-ups of vital signs and weight to monitor residents’ health status
Monitor and supervise residents’ diet and food intake on a daily basis
Administer prescribed medications and monitor side effects and effectiveness while educating patients and families about proper usage
Maintain residents’ personal hygiene and encourage participation in daily activities
Assist residents with outside consultations in coordination with House Doctor or Nursing In-charge
Maintain and update daily records such as nurse observation notes, lab reports, old reports register, and workbooks
Support therapeutic interventions including counseling, psychoeducation, and therapy in coordination with psychiatric counselors and medical professionals
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Graduation or minimum Proficiency Certificate Level (PCL) in Gender Medicine – Health Assistant (HA) or Community Medicine Assistant (CMA) from a government-certified institution
Valid and current HA or CMA license issued by Nepal Medical Council
1–2 years of experience in hospital care and emergency services
Able to work effectively in hospital settings and handle emergency situations
Can communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare teams
Disciplined, goal-oriented, and consistent in providing patient care
Based in Kathmandu and available to work full-time onsite
