QUALIFICATIONS AND REQURIEMENTS:

Education: Intermediate or 10+2 in Management, Business Administration, or relevant field.

Experience: The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • At least 2 year of experience in operation front desk management
  • INGO experience is strongly preferred; experience on donor-funded projects (specifically USAID) desired
  • Basic software skills in MS Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written

Other: High level of English and of Nepali is required.

Job Description

BACKGROUND: 

Winrock is seeking candidates for a Receptionist for the Feed the Future Knowledge-based Integrated Sustainable Agriculture in Nepal II (KISAN II) project, Kathmandu Office. The USAID/Nepal-funded KISAN II project is improving food security in twenty Hill and Terai districts in the Western, Mid-Western and Far-Western regions of the country and four districts in the Central region. The purpose of the project is to increase resilience, inclusiveness, and sustainability of income growth in the Feed the Future Zone of Influence. KISAN II will help lead firms, input suppliers, and private sector change agents catalyze agricultural productivity, competitive market systems, a stronger enabling environment, and business and literacy skills for households in two Zones of Influence.

POSITION DESCRIPTION 

The KISAN II Receptionist will oversee day-to-day tasks in the front office including internal and external communication, logistics support for staff and guests, and filing for the HQ Office in Kathmandu.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer all incoming telephone calls and direct to the proper person or department.  If the proper person or department is not available, take clear messages and deliver these messages in a timely manner.
  • Make telephone calls as requested from staff.
  • Assign reference numbers to outgoing mail, and coordinate with couriers (eg. DHL), postal officers, and messengers to send and track mail. Receive, log-in, and distribute incoming mail.
  • Maintain the general filing system and file all correspondence.
  • Ensure and record daily staff attendance, monthly timesheet and leave status.
  • Make photocopies as needed.
  • Book and issue domestic airlines tickets & make copies for the records, and provide tickets to travelers
  • Ensure and record daily staff attendance, monthly timesheet and leave status.
  • Typing documents in English to Nepali and vice versa.
  • Maintain the staff travel status in white board.
  • Maintain generator log book.
