About the job

Job Title: Purchase Officer
Location: Hetauda Plant
Department: Procurement & Supply Chain
Reports To: SCM

Job Purpose:

The Purchase Officer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services required for the CG Beverage Hetauda Plant. The role involves vendor management, cost control, and ensuring timely availability of materials to support smooth plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement & Vendor Management:

Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, and reliability.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to ensure cost efficiency.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a stable supply chain.
Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with agreed terms.

Material & Inventory Management:

Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, and spare parts for production.
Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
Coordinate with the warehouse and production team for material planning and availability.
Monitor market trends and ensure cost-effective purchasing.

Compliance & Documentation:

Ensure all purchases comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier agreements.
Coordinate with the finance department for purchase order processing and payments.

Cost Control & Process Improvement:

Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and negotiation.
Analyze procurement data to optimize purchasing strategies.
Implement best practices to improve efficiency and reduce procurement lead times.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the FMCG or beverage industry.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Key Competencies:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of sourcing best practices and supply chain principles.
Understanding of procurement compliance and regulatory requirements.
