Responsibilities

  • Act as the main contact between the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and the Project Supervision Committee (PSC), ensuring project goals meet their standards and objectives.
  • Organize regular meetings to update stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and resolutions, and present project status reports to the NEA and PSC.
  • Work with design consultants to ensure designs meet technical and regulatory requirements, review and approve design documents, and address design issues during execution.
  • Ensure timely submission of design deliverables.
  • Oversee site activities to align with the project plan, conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and quality, and resolve site-related issues with teams and sub-contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
  • Develop and manage procurement plans, coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of quality materials, and monitor inventory to avoid delays.
  • Negotiate procurement contracts and manage vendor relationships.
  • Lead and direct head office and site teams, monitor performance, ensure adherence to timelines and budgets, and implement project management best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance to the project team, ensure solutions are feasible and cost-effective, assist in troubleshooting, and stay updated with substation technology advancements to integrate innovations into the project.
  • Flexible for site visit frequently. 

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in electrical substation projects.
  • Strong understanding of substation design, construction, and operational principles.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and contract management.
  • Familiarity with NEA regulations and standards is an advantage.
