Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Project Manager with strong experience in hydropower surface civil works. The selected candidate will support the Project Manager in planning, execution, supervision, and coordination of construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Read, interpret, and implement construction drawings and BOQs.
Prepare and review method statements, work schedules, and material estimates
Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards
Coordinate with client, consultant, and survey team
Identify construction issues and propose practical site solutions
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports
Work in remote project locations and meet project deadlines under pressure

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 6 years

Other Specification

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university
6-7 years of professional experience in hydropower projects
Must have minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in surface civil works, including:
- Headworks (weir, intake, spillway, undersluice)
- River diversion and cofferdam works
- Desander basin and approach canal

Technical Skills & Responsibilities:

Strong knowledge of:

Concrete works (PCC, RCC, and mass concrete)
Earthworks, excavation, backfilling, and compaction
Reinforcement detailing and formwork
River training and protection works

Software & Computer Skills:

Proficiency in:
AutoCAD (mandatory)
MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of Civil 3D, MS Project will be an added advantage

Familiar with:

Quality control procedures and inspection checklists
Basic knowledge of QA/QC documentation
Site safety practices
Measurement, billing, and IPC preparation.

Personal & Professional Attributes:

Good communication and reporting skills
Strong leadership and site coordination ability
Willingness to work in remote project locations
Able to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
