Job Description

Under the supervision of the Grants Coordinator, and in cooperation with the staff of the Programme Management Unit, the Programme Support Officer will be responsible for the following:

To assist the Grants Coordinator in:

  • Developing and announcing the call for proposals as well as managing proposal evaluations, specifically regarding communication with the pool of proposal reviewers
  • Following up on the activities of the winning proposals and financial reporting to be done by the grant recipients
  • Managing quality control processes of the funded proposals, especially with regards to communication with the pool of reviewers
  • Reporting to the World Bank on progress and results as well as finalising and summarising annual reporting to the World Bank
  • Organising steering committee meetings (virtual)
  • To communicate with and respond to enquiries from prospective applicants
  • To communicate and coordinate with the grant recipients on work plans and budget, inception reports and financial reports
  • To organise internal ICIMOD meetings as well as workshops to present the outputs of the activities funded by the programme
  • To carry out a public awareness campaign to facilitate the achievement of programme objectives.
  • To manage web contents of the information related to the programme.
  • To coordinate with the ICIMOD Finance Unit on timely disbursement of funds to the grant recipients and on financial reporting and control
  • To carry out any other responsibilities concerning the programme and assigned by the Grants Coordinator
