Production Manager

The Executive Search Unit of merojob, on behalf of its client, is hiring a Production Manager (FMCG). The role involves overseeing fast-paced manufacturing operations to ensure products are delivered efficiently, on time, within budget, and to quality standards. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with strong production management expertise, team leadership skills, and the ability to drive operational excellence, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement in the FMCG sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute production schedules to meet demand and delivery targets.
• Monitor production activities to ensure efficiency and timely completion.
• Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to ensure raw material availability.
• Lead, supervise, and develop production staff.
• Assign tasks and responsibilities effectively.
• Monitor performance, provide feedback, and implement corrective actions when needed.
• Ensure all products meet established quality and safety standards.
• Work closely with QA teams to maintain and improve quality control systems.
• Resolve quality-related issues and implement preventive measures.
• Manage production budgets and optimize resource utilization.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
• Enforce adherence to workplace health, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols.
• Continuously evaluate production processes for improvement.
• Apply lean manufacturing and other best practices to enhance efficiency.
• Prepare regular production reports for senior management.
• Maintain accurate records of production metrics and performance indicators.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Engineering, or Industrial Management (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in FMCG/Food & Beverage production or manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of food production processes, food safety, and hygiene standards.
• Proficiency in ERP/production management systems.
• Familiarity with quality management practices.
• Results-driven, agile, detail-oriented, with the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
