About the job
Key Responsibilities:
Rate Management:
Manage freight rates for air, ocean, and land transport. Negotiate rates with carriers, shipping lines, airlines, and third-party logistics providers to ensure competitive pricing. Maintain and update rate sheets for various trade lanes and transportation modes.
Cost Analysis:
Evaluate pricing structures to identify cost-saving opportunities. Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and ensure that all logistics costs are accounted for in quotations. Quotations and Proposals: Respond to client inquiries by preparing competitive and accurate pricing quotations. Collaborate with the sales team to tailor pricing solutions to client needs while ensuring profitability.
Market Research:
Conduct market research to monitor freight trends and competitor pricing. Provide insights and recommendations based on market conditions to support strategic decisions.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the sales, operations, and finance teams to align pricing strategies with overall business objectives. Coordinate with international agents and partners for rate procurement and validation. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of pricing activities and agreements with service providers. Generate regular reports on pricing trends, competitor analysis, and performance metrics.
Compliance:
Ensure all pricing activities comply with company policies, local regulations, and international trade standards.
