Roles and responsibilities of this job

Designation: Manager
Responsible/Reports: The Hospital Management Committee
Leave : will be approved by the Chairperson, HMC
Working : 6 days per week and as decided by HMC
Working Time : 10.00 am to 4.00 pm

In addition to the functions mentioned in the By-law, the Administration Officer shall have following responsibilities:

Carryout day-to-day administration and finances of the Lions hospital in close coordination of Medical Director
Execute policies, programs, decisions and directives of HMC and Lions Board
Mobilize, allocate, motivate, encourage administrative staffs in day-to-day activities and conduct performance evaluation regularly
Support HMC to appoint support staffs
Make job allocations of administrative and finance staffs
Recommend to the HMC for disciplinary actions against those staffs for their incompetence, negligence and misappropriation of funds and abuse of authority
Arrange necessary preparation of HMC and Lions meeting and prepare minutes if authorized
Participate in different meetings, workshops, seminar and trainings as instructed by HMC
Submit periodic reports to the HMC and in concerned offices
Coordinate and supervise functional units and organize staff meetings regularly
Coordinate with line agencies, development partners and stakeholders, donor agencies to facilitate hospital activities and services
Select Service Agencies and contract out services as instructed by HMC
Ensure that all documents and renewal of both the Lions club of Kathmandu and Lions Eye Hospital are done timely and efficiently.
Coordinate and assist the Medical Director /Superintendent in the smooth functioning of Lions Eye Hospital

Bachelor's Degree in Hospital Administration, Management, or related fields.
3 Years of experience in Healthcare or Hospital Management.

Lions Club of Kathmandu, the first Lions Club in Kathmandu and second in the country, Nepal, was established in 1972 in the initiation of 50 young leaders of the society. The club was brought into foundation as inspired from the slogan 'WE SERVE' Lions Eye Hospital (LEH) is one of the projects of Lions Club of Kathmandu which was established in 1984 with the name of Lions Eye Care Center in a small rented room in Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu to offer a variety of eye care services to the poor and economically weak people from different parts of Nepal. Latter it was transformed into a 15 Bed eye hospital named Lions Eye Hospital (LEH) since 2012. Since then it has progressed from strength to strength and now functions as a non-profit making international non-government organization (NGO) offering a variety of eye care services to the people in different parts of Nepal. Through the services provided LCK has succeeded to spread the name of “Lion-ism” over general people of Nepal.
