Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company’s legal compliance, managing legal risks, preparing legal documents, and advising management on legal issues related to business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the lab complies with all local, national, and international laws, including healthcare, employment, and safety regulations.
Oversee the registration and renewal of the company in compliance with the Company Act 2063.
Oversee the registration and renewal of the company in compliance with the Department of Industry act.
Manage the registration and renewal of the Lab Permission License with the National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL).
Monitor changes in legislation and update the management team accordingly.
Assist in obtaining and maintaining necessary licenses and certifications, particularly for ISO:15189 and other regulatory bodies.
Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and official correspondence for the Managing Director.
Act as a liaison between the Managing Director and other departments within the lab, ensuring smooth communication.
Coordinate with external stakeholders, including government bodies, partners, and clients, on behalf of the Managing Director.
Assist the Managing Director in managing key strategic projects, particularly those with legal or compliance components.
Oversee the progress of these projects, ensuring timelines and legal requirements are met.
Maintain the Managing Director's legal and confidential documents, ensuring proper filing and accessibility.

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 3 years

Other Specification

Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB)
License to practice law from the relevant legal authority.
Minimum of 3 - 4 years of experience in a legal role, preferably in the healthcare or corporate sector.
Strong knowledge of corporate law, labor law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to draft, review, and interpret legal documents accurately.
High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to work independently and make informed legal decisions.
