Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking an experienced and proactive ESOHS Manager to lead and oversee all Environment, Safety, Occupational Health, and Sustainability initiatives within the organization. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, promote a strong safety culture, and drive continuous improvement in environmental and occupational health performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor ESOHS policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Ensure strict compliance with environmental regulations, occupational health standards, and workplace safety laws.
Lead incident investigations, prepare reports, and implement preventive measures.
Oversee emergency response planning and drills, ensuring readiness for critical situations.
Provide training and awareness programs for employees on safety, health, and environmental practices.
Collaborate with regulatory agencies, local authorities, and grid operators to ensure compliance and smooth coordination.
Supervise and guide ESOHS staff, contractors, and subcontractors to maintain high safety standards.
Maintain accurate records and prepare ESOHS performance reports for senior management.
Promote a proactive safety culture across all levels of the organization.

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 7 years

Other Specification

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety,Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree or professional certifications such as NEBOSH/IOSH preferred).
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in industrial safety, environmental management, or occupational health, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of national labor laws, environmental regulations, and international safety standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OHSAS).
Familiarity with IFC Performance Standards, ADB environmental and social guidelines, and other international compliance frameworks.
Proven experience in risk assessment, hazard identification, and emergency preparedness planning.
Familiarity with hydropower or large-scale energy projects is highly desirable.
Excellent leadership, communication, and training skills to promote a strong safety culture.
High ethical standards, attention to detail, and ability to enforce compliance across diverse teams.
Proficiency in English.
