Roles and responsibilities of this job

The Junior Accounting and Financial Analyst will work under Steward Strategies, supporting both the firm’s internal financial operations and selected client engagements.

This role combines structured accounting execution with financial analysis and systems implementation exposure. The Analyst will assist in maintaining accurate books of accounts, preparing financial reports, supporting compliance requirements, contributing to financial modeling and analysis, and helping with investment analysis, cash flow projections, valuations, and related financial activities.

In addition to internal responsibilities, the role may involve working directly with client organizations — including visiting client offices when required — to assist in implementing financial systems, organizing accounting processes, and bridging gaps between client accounting practices, industry best practices, Lean Six Sigma methodologies, project management standards, and the structured financial frameworks established by the firm.

This position is ideal for an early-career professional seeking hands-on exposure to real-world finance operations, consulting environments, and multi-client financial systems work.

Reporting Line: Founder & CEO

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping Support

Assist in maintaining accurate books of accounts, including journal entries and ledger maintenance (both internal and client-related where applicable)
Support preparation and review of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)
Assist with account reconciliations and compliance documentation
Support coordination with external accountants, auditors, consultants, or advisors as required
Assist in audit preparation and coordination, including documentation support and data reconciliation
Coordinate with banks on routine matters such as cheque issuance and delivery, documentation, and account-related follow-ups

Financial Systems & Client Support

Support the implementation and structuring of financial systems for client organizations
Assist in organizing accounting records and improving documentation processes at client sites when required
Help bridge operational gaps between Steward Strategies’ recommended financial standards and client accounting practices
Participate in client meetings to support financial discussions and documentation
Assist client teams with technical know-how (technological and financial)

Financial Analysis & Support

Assist in preparing financial models, projections, and cash flow analyses
Support cost tracking, variance analysis, and profitability assessments
Assist senior team members in feasibility analysis and financial evaluations
Provide structured analytical support on consulting engagements

Reporting & Documentation

Prepare periodic financial summaries and internal reports
Maintain organized working files and financial documentation
Support preparation of presentations, schedules, and supporting materials for internal and client use

Coordination & General Support

Work closely with internal teams to gather financial and operational data
Provide analytical and documentation support on ad-hoc finance and consulting tasks
Support structured follow-ups and accountability tracking within finance-related projects

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:Less than 2 years

Other Specification

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field

Technical Skills

High confidence in using computers and business software daily
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets (formulas, structured data organization, analysis)
Comfort working with accounting software, digital records, and structured documentation
Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial statements
Working knowledge of finance concepts such as cash flow management, budgeting, and cost analysis

Preferred Qualifications

0–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related roles (fresh graduates encouraged to apply)
Exposure to bookkeeping, accounting software, audits, or financial reporting
Experience preparing structured presentations using PowerPoint or Google Slides
Progress toward a CA, ACCA, CFA, or similar professional qualification is an advantage
