Reports to: Promoter / Principal
Scope: Manage listed equity and real estate portfolios for two related entities under promoter oversight.

We are hiring a single Investment Manager - Equities & Real Estate to run equity market and real estate investments across two entities. You will own day-to-day portfolio decisions, entry and exit, position sizing, stop-loss and target setting, rebalancing, research and broker coordination within a defined mandate. Larger actions (breaching exposure limits, new borrowing, fund transfers, property transactions, changes to allocation) go to the promoter for written approval.

The role runs under a clear governance structure: accounting, reconciliation, banking authorisations and fund transfers are held separately from the investment function. You focus on managing the book; you won't be moving money or booking your own trades.

Key Responsibilities

Manage listed equity and hydropower portfolios across two related entities.
Make day-to-day investment decisions, including entry, exit, position sizing, stop-loss, and target setting.
Conduct market, company, financial, and real estate research.
Monitor portfolio performance and execute rebalancing within the approved mandate.
Coordinate with brokers and other investment-related counterparties.
Maintain trade journals, investment records, and supporting documentation.
Ensure adherence to risk limits, investment policies, and governance requirements.
Monitor live positions and manage investment risks effectively.
Prepare regular portfolio and investment performance reports for the Promoter / Principal.
Identify and escalate decisions requiring written promoter approval.
Maintain strict compliance with no-front-running, no-gifts, and personal trading disclosure requirements.
Coordinate with accounting and reconciliation teams while maintaining segregation of duties.

What we're looking for

Experience: 4–6 years in equity markets, including at least 2 years on a live dealing desk. Real estate experience is a plus; otherwise we support the role with an external consultant in Year 1.
Qualifications: A current regulator licence or certification, plus a finance degree, CFA Level 1, or an equivalent credential.
Track record: A demonstrable, honest history of both wins and losses. You keep a trade journal as standard practice and can speak candidly about what has gone wrong and why.
Discipline: Every position carries a stop at entry; you respect risk limits and reconciliation/record-keeping as part of the job, not an afterthought.
Judgement under pressure: You can structure a working day so that live positions and administrative deadlines both get handled.
Integrity: You're comfortable with full written disclosure of personal trading accounts and trades, and with a strict no-front-running, no-gifts conduct standard.
