Job description of an Intern at The Ujyalo Foundation

The Ujyalo Foundation is looking for self-motivated, passionate, determined, and independent changer makers who are willing to impact change at the grass root level. Position Description

The individual appointed in this position will be responsible for the duties mentioned below. The intern working in this position can only work with The Ujyalo Foundation during the time of the internship. During and after the end of the position all the information that is confidential to the organization should REMAIIN within the parameters of the organization including the executive level officers appointed within the organization at that time.

The individual appointed in this position will directly collaborate with the Executive Director from the headquarters, the regional project manager and will share ideas and information in timely manner as list in the job description.

Since the individual appointed will represent The Ujyalo Foundation in the community and the media, and being a community oriented organization proper conduct of behavior should be maintained in public at all times and Ujyalo’s name should not be used to gain personal favors at anytime.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Project Coordinator and Executive Director and assist in various tasks as needed
  • Help in conducting focus group discussion about Ujyalo before conducting the survey
  • Help in collaborating with community partners about the project, and disseminating information about the project
  • Identify possible venues for the implementation of the project
  • Identify social mobilizers and community workers for idea dissemination and implementation about the project
  • Represent the Foundation on social media platform
  • Manage Ujyalo’s social media pages— facebook, twitter, website
  • Check Foundation’s inquiry email
  • Help conduct board meetings and staff meeting
  • Manage The Ujyalo Impact Story series by posting impact stories every other week
  • Maintain transparent communication with the Executive Director
  • Submit weekly reports on the progress of the project
