  • Experience with project management and construction practices in hydropower.

Job Description

Planning and Design:

  • Lead the planning and preliminary design of hydropower projects, including site selection, hydrological analysis, and power generation estimates.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, including technical, economic, and environmental assessments.
  • Develop detailed engineering designs for hydropower structures such as dams, intakes, penstocks, powerhouses, and tailrace channels.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant national and international standards, codes, and regulations.

Project Management:

  • Manage the technical aspects of hydropower projects, including coordinating with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and technical specifications.
  • Oversee the construction and installation of hydropower equipment and infrastructure.
  • Manage and mitigate technical risks associated with hydropower projects.

Technical Expertise:

  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and junior engineers.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in hydropower technology and industry best practices.
  • Conduct technical reviews and assessments of hydropower designs and installations.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure project integrity.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Liaise with government agencies, local communities, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Address technical concerns and provide solutions to ensure project alignment and community acceptance.
  • Environmental and Social Safeguards:
  • Ensure that hydropower projects are designed and implemented in accordance with environmental and social safeguards.
  • Support in conducting environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and develop mitigation plans to minimize negative impacts.

Other Duties:

  • Prepare technical reports and presentations.
  • Participate in site visits and inspections.
  • Contribute to the development of company standards and procedures.
