Herb Nepal is an award winning organic herb farm and learning space, based in Ashapuri, Bhaktapur. Herb Nepal works with small-scale rural farmers to grow organic and sustainable herbal crops which are used in our own skincare range. At the farm we also have visitor accommodation, the Farm Stays, which support the running of the farmer-led training programme.

For the Farm Stays, we are seeking an exceptional Assistant Hospitality Manager that can deliver outstanding customer care, motivate and energise a staff team while increasing the revenue potential of the farm stays. You will be an outstanding team player, able to build respectful relationships with your team mates while working independently using your own initiative.

Excellent Nepali and English language skills (spoken and written) are essential for the role. Interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with people from around the world is vital.

Work experience:

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in the hospitality, tourism and travel sector (Essential)
  • Minimum of two years’ supervisory and project management experience (HR, Finance, Resource) 
  • Experience in farming/ agriculture work is an advantage  
  • Experience in food and catering is an advantage 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduates with degrees in travel, tourism, leisure are especially encouraged to apply
  • Excellent communication skills in Nepali and English (written and spoken)
  • Able to confidently communicate to a wide variety of international and national customers
  • Outstanding customer service skills 
  • Excellent ITC skills; including social media 
  • Excellent facilitation and training skills

Salary range: Rs. 18,000 – Rs. 30,000 per calendar month (after tax and benefits). Salary is dependent on experience and skills. 


Job Description

The post holder will be the first point of contact for all guests ensuring they have an unforgettable experience. This job role has full responsibility for organising food, beverages, housekeeping and farm activities as requested by the central booking office. Supervision of the local team will consist of supporting, guiding and training our team members ensuring the customer experience at The Farm Stays remains central to what we do while maximising revenue potential. 

Tasks and responsibility include: 

  • Supervising staff (including farm staff)
  • Preparing visitor information
  • Forming excellent rapport with guests 
  • Managing budgets
  • ‘Walk the floor’ ensure all guest touch points are well maintained
  • Ensure housekeeping is maintained to an excellent standard 
  • Undertaking day-to-day centre management and administration
  • Liaising with local businesses and the media
  • Developing and creating farm-related activities 
  • To work closely with the senior managers in Herb Nepal 
  • To act as a focal person for visitors to Herb Nepal
  • To support the sales, production and processing of herbal products
  • To promote the values of Herb Nepal 
  • To complete other tasks as required by the organisation
