  • 2-3 years of experience as a cook specializing in operating Chinese, Indian and Continental.. 
  • Experience in a restaurant or culinary environment with a focus on Continental cuisine is preferred. 
  • Culinary certification or vocational training in culinary arts is an advantage. 
  • Proficient in operating and maintaining Continental ovens (convection, combi, deck ovens).

Job Description

  • Set up and preheat Continental ovens according to the menu requirements. 
  • Monitor oven temperatures and adjust settings as necessary to ensure optimal cooking conditions. 
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including marinating, seasoning, and portioning as per recipes. 
  • Cook various Continental dishes such as roasted meats, baked goods, and grilled items using the appropriate oven techniques. 
  • Coordinate timing with other kitchen staff to ensure all components of a dish are ready for assembly and serving. 
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation. 
  • Conduct regular checks on food items being cooked in the Continental oven to avoid overcooking or undercooking. 
  • Clean and maintain Continental ovens and associated equipment following hygiene standards.
  • Report any malfunctioning equipment to the kitchen manager or maintenance team promptly. 
  • Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients and cooked items to prevent contamination. 
  • Work closely with the head chef and kitchen team to coordinate food preparation and service timings. 
  • Communicate any issues or suggestions regarding menu items, equipment, or processes to the relevant authorities. 
  • Follow all safety and sanitation procedures, including proper handling of food, cleaning chemicals, and kitchen tools. 
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while working in the kitchen.
