  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in environmental impact assessment (EIA), initial environmental examination (IEE), or environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA), preferably in the energy sector (hydropower, solar).
  • Knowledge of environmental and social safeguards policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with Nepali environmental laws and regulations.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in community engagement and consultation.
  • Proficiency in Nepali and English languages.
  • Valid driver's license is preferred.

Job Description

E&S Management Plan Implementation:

  • Implement and monitor Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) for various projects.
  • Ensure that project activities are carried out in accordance with environmental and social safeguards requirements.

Environmental Monitoring:

  • Conduct environmental monitoring, including air quality, water quality, noise levels, and biodiversity assessments.
  • Collect and analyze environmental data.
  • Prepare environmental monitoring reports.

Community Engagement:

  • Engage with local communities to address concerns and promote project acceptance.
  • Conduct community consultations and grievance redressal.
  • Implement community development initiatives.

EIA/IEE/ESIA Support:

  • Assist in the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Initial Environmental Examinations (IEEs), and Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs).
  • Review E&S documents to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Permitting and Compliance:

  • Obtain necessary environmental permits and approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental laws, regulations, and standards.

Training and Capacity Building:

  • Provide training to project personnel on environmental and social safeguards.
  • Promote environmental awareness and responsible environmental practices.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare regular E&S reports for management and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records of E&S activities.

Other Duties:

  • Stay up-to-date on environmental and social best practices.
  • Participate in site visits and inspections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
