Roles and responsibilities of this job

The Data Center Operation Engineer is responsible for real-time monitoring and supervision of critical data center systems, ensuring uninterrupted availability, tracking alerts, and supporting incident response as the first line of defense in 24×7 rotational shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitoring & Incident Management:

Perform 24×7 real-time monitoring of all data center infrastructure, including:
- Power: HT/LT, UPS, DG, PDU, ATS
- Cooling: CRAC, Chillers, PAHU
- Network & IT: NMS
- Systems: iBMS, EMS, DCIM, CCTV, ACS, and FAS.
Detect, acknowledge, log, escalate, and close incidents in accordance with defined SOPs and escalation metrics.
Act as the first level responder for infrastructure alarms and events, coordinating with Operations, Network, and Security teams.

Reporting & Documentation:

Coordinate with service providers and OEM for incident resolution and technical support.
Prepare and maintain shift reports, incident logs, root cause analysis , and trend analysis reports.
Support planned maintenance activities, change management, and maintenance window coordination.

Emergency & Safety Management:

Assist in emergency response procedures, simulations, and disaster recovery drills.
Ensure continuous compliance with safety, security, and operational procedures during all shifts.

Customer Support:

Provide customer support, including coordinating customer access, performing authorized remote hands activities, and supporting service requests

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 1 year

Other Specification

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
1–3 years of experience in data centers, critical facilities, power plants, telecom/ISP facilities, or industrial environments.
Basic understanding of critical power systems: HT/LT, UPS, DG sets, ATS, PDU.
Working knowledge of cooling systems: chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, pumps, PAHUs.
Familiarity with networking and monitoring systems: iBMS, EMS, DCIM, BMS, CCTV, ACS, FAS, NMS.
Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, and alarm dashboards.
Strong incident handling, escalation, and documentation discipline.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Willingness to work in 24×7 rotational shifts, including nights and holidays.
Safety-conscious mindset with adherence to operational procedures.

Note: Fresh graduates with certifications/training in data center operations, electrical safety, HVAC, or critical infrastructure with strong technical fundamentals may also be considered.
