Executive Search at Merojob is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) on behalf of its client, a leading Manufacturing Company. The position is factory-based and responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and sustainable growth. The COO will oversee the end-to-end operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring high productivity, efficiency, and quality standards. The role requires a strategic yet hands-on leader with a deep understanding of production processes, plant operations, supply chain management, and operational excellence. The COO will play a critical role in driving sustainable growth, optimizing costs, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage all plant operations including production, maintenance, quality control, logistics, and procurement.
Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve production targets, efficiency benchmarks, and cost objectives.
Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations across all operations.
Oversee raw material sourcing, inventory control, and logistics to maintain uninterrupted plant operations.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process optimization, automation, and cost reduction.
Collaborate with finance and commercial teams to align operational goals with business objectives.
Establish performance metrics, monitor KPIs, and implement corrective actions where required.
Lead, mentor, and develop plant management teams to foster a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
Manage relationships with regulatory bodies, suppliers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
Support capital projects including capacity expansion, modernization, and technology upgrades.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering; MBA preferred.
Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in cement manufacturing or heavy process industries, with at least 5 years in a senior operational leadership role.
Proven track record in plant management, production optimization, and large-scale operations leadership.
Strong knowledge of cement manufacturing processes, equipment, and maintenance systems.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive performance improvements.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong focus on safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
