Roles and responsibilities of this job

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving business growth, strengthening client relationships, expanding market presence, and managing strategic partnerships within the Nepalese healthcare sector.

The role requires a highly motivated professional with strong sales expertise, relationship management capability, and a deep understanding of the medical devices and healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Planning & Business Development

Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with government and private hospitals, clinics, healthcare providers, and key accounts.
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring customer requirements are addressed effectively and promptly.
Identify opportunities to expand sales within existing accounts while developing new business partnerships.
Develop strategic sales plans to achieve business targets and enhance market penetration across Nepal.

2. Market Monitoring:

Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback within the Nepalese healthcare market.
Identify opportunities for product enhancement, service improvements, and market expansion.
Track industry developments, regulatory updates, and emerging healthcare technologies relevant to the business.

3. Market Insights & Analysis:

Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify emerging business opportunities, customer needs, and healthcare industry trends.
Prepare and maintain market intelligence reports for management review.
Analyze sales performance data and recommend strategies to improve business outcomes and customer engagement.

4. Customer Relationship Management:

Build and strengthen strong partnerships with customers, healthcare professionals, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through regular engagement and relationship management.
Represent the company professionally during meetings, presentations, and business discussions with stakeholders.

5. Channel Partner Management:

Build and maintain productive relationships with distributors, dealers, and channel partners.
Support channel partners to strengthen product positioning and improve sales performance.
Identify and onboard potential channel partners to expand the company’s distribution network.

6. Deal Negotiation & Commercial Management:

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial agreements aligned with company objectives and customer requirements.
Ensure smooth coordination during contract execution and business transactions.
Support payment follow-ups, commercial discussions, and account management activities when required.

7. Reporting & Performance Analysis:

Present regular reports, forecasts, and market performance analyses to senior management.
Monitor account performance through sales tracking, forecasting, and customer analysis.
Identify business risks and proactively recommend solutions to address challenges.
Maintain accurate sales records, pipeline updates, and business development reports.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 8 years

Other Specification

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or related field.
MBA or additional professional sales/marketing certifications will be an added advantage.
Minimum 8 years of experience in sales and business development.
Prior experience in medical device, healthcare equipment, pharmaceutical, or healthcare-related industries is preferred.
Experience working with corporate hospitals, government hospitals, healthcare institutions, and key decision-makers.
Experience in channel management, dealer handling, and distribution network development will be an advantage.
Strong exposure to institutional sales and healthcare market development in Nepal is highly preferred.

Other Requirements:

Strong business and financial acumen with excellent analytical capability.
Strong customer orientation and relationship management skills.
Ability to coordinate and manage multiple internal and external stakeholders effectively.
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
Ability to work under targets and manage multiple business priorities efficiently.
