Roles and responsibilities of this job

Avinya Store is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, taxation compliance, inventory-related accounting, and financial coordination across stores and departments. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in trading and retail accounting, preferably in furniture, lifestyle, or retail businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Financial Operations:

Prepare and maintain accurate accounting vouchers and entries in the accounting system
Handle vouchers related to:

Petty Cash
POS Sales
Bank Transactions
Inter-Branch/Inter-Company Adjustments
TDS
Advance & Prepaid Expenses
Adjustment and Reconciliation Entries

Record and verify:

Sales & Sales Returns
Purchases & Purchase Returns
Journal Entries
Debit/Credit Notes
Challans and Inventory Documents

Ensure timely and accurate bookkeeping for all showroom and warehouse transactions
Monitor daily accounting activities to ensure compliance with company financial procedures

2. Retail & Inventory Accounting:

Monitor inventory movement and maintain accuracy between physical stock and system records
Coordinate with showroom, warehouse, and operations teams for inventory reconciliation
Verify landed costs, product costing, freight, customs, and import-related expenses
Support pricing and margin analysis for products sold at Avinya Store
Assist management in improving inventory controls and stock monitoring systems

3. Reconciliation & Reporting:

Perform reconciliation of:

Cash Book and Bank Statements
POS Collections
Vendor & Customer Accounts
TDS Receivables/Payables

Obtain balance confirmations from vendors and business partners
Assist in monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting
Prepare financial summaries and reports for management review and decision-making

4. VAT, Tax & Compliance:

Prepare and verify VAT and TDS-related documentation and submissions
Maintain proper tax records and supporting documents
Coordinate during tax audits and statutory audits
Follow up on tax mismatches and reconciliations
Visit tax offices and related authorities when required
Ensure compliance with Nepalese accounting standards and taxation regulations

5. Coordination & Communication:

Coordinate with internal departments, showroom teams, suppliers, and logistics partners for timely financial reporting
Follow up with vendors and clients regarding invoices, payments, and tax documentation
Support management with accurate financial data and operational reports
Maintain effective communication across departments to ensure smooth operational and financial workflow

6. Software & System Coordination:

Work closely with the software provider for troubleshooting and system-related support
Ensure proper use and maintenance of accounting and inventory systems
Assist in system improvements and process automation where required

7. Additional Responsibilities:

Support management in improving financial processes and controls
Perform any other finance and accounting-related tasks assigned by management
Contribute to strengthening internal controls and financial operational efficiency

Required Education Level:Graduate (Masters)

Required Experience:More than 3 years

MBS with specialization in Accounts or Finance.

Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience in trading, retail, or inventory-based accounting.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hands-on experience with different accounting software
Strong knowledge of retail and inventory accounting
Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills
Good understanding of:
understanding of:

VAT
TDS
Nepalese taxation system
Import costing and inventory reconciliation

Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and coordinate across departments.

Preferred Background:

Candidates with prior experience in furniture, lifestyle, retail, or showroom-based businesses will be given preference
Experience in inventory-heavy and multi-branch operational environments will be an added advantage
