Job Title: WASH Technician
Number of Positions: 12
Location: Madhesh, Lumbini & Sudurpashchim Province

Job Summary:

The WASH Technician will support the implementation of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) in Healthcare Facilities , infrastructure and behavior change activities at the community level. They will assist in the construction, maintenance, and monitoring of WASH facilities at Healthcares and provide technical support to ensure that all systems are built and operated to standard.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Support

Assist in the construction, installation, and maintenance of water supply systems, latrines, handwashing stations, and other WASH facilities.
Ensure quality workmanship according to technical drawings and specifications.
Monitor the use of construction materials and tools on-site.

Field Monitoring

Conduct regular site visits to ensure progress and quality of WASH facilities.
Identify and report any issues in design, construction, or maintenance.
Support testing of water quality and functionality of systems.

Community Coordination

Work closely with community members, local laborers, and users to promote ownership and sustainability of WASH infrastructure.
Support formation and training of WASH user committees.

Hygiene Promotion Support

Assist in delivering hygiene promotion sessions and demonstrations.
Support distribution and proper use of hygiene kits or materials, if applicable.

Documentation

Maintain daily activity logs, basic technical records, and community feedback.
Report regularly to supervisors on work progress and challenges.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Diploma Certificate

Required Experience:More than 2 years

Other Specification

Qualifications and Experience:

Diploma/Technical Training in Civil Engineering, Plumbing, or a related field preferred.
More than 2 years of relevant work experience in construction or WASH-related technical roles.
Ability to read basic technical drawings and BoQs.
Good understanding of WASH standards and practices.
Experience working in rural or remote communities is a strong advantage.
Basic knowledge of local language(s) and good communication skills.
