AAIN is seeking competent, committed and result-oriented candidates for the position of Human Resource, Organisational Development & Safeguarding Manager (HROD&S). HROD&S Manager ensures the development, update, and implementation of human resources and safeguarding policies, procedures, and systems for AAIN which are aligned to the AAIN Country Strategic Plan; and ensures adherence to HR good practices of AAI Global HROD Framework and Standards, and compliance with all local labor laws and other statutory requirements in Nepal.

Job Description

  • Master’s degree in Disaster Risk Management or related field with minimum 7 years of relevant progressively responsible experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a senior level management and leadership position, preferably in the context of bilateral donor funded program (i.e. DFID, USAID, DFAT)
  • Strong experience of working in the school sector and with communities on disaster preparedness and management, and a good understanding of how disaster resilience is part of the curriculum and teacher/school management training preferably in Nepal
  • Knowledge of Government of Nepal’s rules and regulations related to building codes, retrofitting guidance and standard school designs, as well as common building typologies and construction practices in Nepal or similar environments
  • Experience of working with Governments and developing strong positive working relationships, particularly on issues related to disaster resilience and school safety
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Nepali

These are senior level positions based in Kathmandu with frequent travel to the Far and Mid-Western regions of Nepal. (These positions are subject to donor approval of the project)
