Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH invites applications from suitable candidates to work with Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Programme (REEEP)- Green Recovery and Empowerment with Energy in Nepal GREEN. REEEP-GREEN is a technical cooperation project agreed between the Government of Nepal (GoN) and the Federal Republic of Germany. With support of GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and co-financed by the European Union, REEEP-GREEN is executed by the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation and sets out to improve the preconditions for planning and implementation of measures for the promotion of renewable energies and the efficient use of energy in Nepal. The main objective of REEEP-GREEN is to create the regulatory, institutional, and private-sector conditions for disseminating renewable energy and improving energy efficiency in Nepal. REEEP-GREEN uses a multi-level approach consisting of five output areas: Output 1: Policy- Institutional and Regulatory Framework for Renewable Energy (RE) and Energy Efficiency (EE) at National Level; Output 2: Institutional Frameworks for RE and EE at Subnational Levels; Output 3: Sustainable Market Development for RE; Output 4: Dissemination of Results in the field of RE and EE; and Output 5: Energy Efficiency in Industries and Enterprises.

Duty Station: Kathmandu ZFD program office with frequent travel to partner organizations 

Responsibilities:

  • Support a wide range of partner organizations to strengthen their strategic setting and PM&E capacities and tools
  • Support national and international peace advisors in their strategic planning and monitoring with and without their partner organizations
  • Further implement the new GIZ-ZFD guideline on PM&E on project (partner) and program level
  • Support the program coordinator regarding the overall PM&E of the program and the further strategic development
  • Support the program wide knowledge management in the data management system as well as in the global ZFD network
  • Contribute actively in the global ZFD working group on PM&E and exchange regularly with Civil Peace Service PM&E advisors in other countries and with the responsible contact person in GIZ head office in Germany

Required qualification and experience:

  • University degree in social science or peace and conflict studies
  • At least 4 years of working experience in PM&E in the peacebuilding sector or related field (i.e. gender rights, human rights)
  • Several years of working experience with conflict-related PM&E methods (e.g. ‘reflecting on peace process’ (RPP)
  • In depth working experience in conflict transformation and peacebuilding in general
  • Sound knowledge of strategic planning and program development for peacebuilding organizations as part of organizational development
  • Experience in planning and conducting training and workshops 
  • Very good moderation and facilitation skills
  • Very good teambuilding skills and the ability to adapt quickly to different teams 
  • Strong analytical skills to understand a multitude of conflict lines
  • Excellent communication skills(both verbal and written) in Nepali and English 
  • Willingness to learn the ZFD specific PM&E structure
  • Experience in training in organizational development and proposal writing would be an asset
