Accommodation: Two teachers shall be accommodated at Oda Foundation’s staff quarters
Compensation: 16,000 - 20,000 based on competence

ECD/ Montessori : 4
Primary School: 1 (Grade Teaching)
Lower Secondary: 1 (English and Computer combined)

The Oda Foundation has been co-managing the Shree Tila Model School in rural Kalikot under public-private partnership for two years for which six teachers are being recruited, sponsored and co-managed by the Oda Foundation located 20 minutes of walk away from the school. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

The teachers in position are expected to perform day-to-day teaching activities, develop lesson plans and create a child-friendly learning environment. This is a service-oriented profession where the teachers are expected to work for one full academic year. The service will include pre-service and in-service training. One of the six teachers will serve as a Department Associate assisting the Education Program Manager

Competence to demonstrate:

  • Minimum Intermediate degree graduate, Bachelor’s will be an asset
  • Keen interest in children and child development
  • Keen interest in Karnali province and respectful mindset towards living and working conditions in Kalikot
  • Prior experience in teaching will be an asset
  • Keen interest and belief in public education system improvement
  • A desire to work in a rural and limited-resource setting
  • Strong communication and good time management skills
  • A positive attitude with a proven track record for being a team player
  • A strong work ethic and commitment to Oda Foundation Values
  • Commitment to learning and adapting
  • Ability to teach in Nepali language medium or high interest and/capacity to groom oneself towards Nepali medium of instruction
  • Strong critical thinking and written communication skills will be an asset
  • Prior experience working with public servants and/or public school will be an asset
  • Ability to commute on trailroads at a daily basis
