Job Description

NREN is recruiting a full-time System and Network Administrator (Female) who will be responsible for the  management of NREN's Network and System, including implementation of new network services to NREN member institutions.

Education Qualification and Professional Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering / Telecommunication Engineering / Electronics and Communication Engineering/ Computer Science or other related subjects.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in network and system operation, design, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who completed CCNA or other related certification courses.

Expected Attitudes:

  • Ability to visit member institutions frequently.
  • Ability to work after normal working hours when required and in case of critical issues.
  • Handle customer requests proactively while supporting them friendly.
  • Deal with other local/international network operators in troubleshooting and in new deployments.
  • Eagerness to learn new skills and team player.
  • Prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Perform duties accurately and independently.
  • Willingness to teach/share knowledge and experience.
  • Organize training/workshops, conferences, and technical events.
  • Commitment to stay with organization at least for two years.

Expected Skills:

  • Configure Network Devices [Routers and Switches] and provide operational support for servers.
  • Linux and BSD platforms for network services such as Web, Mail, DNS, LDAP, Radius, Proxy, SASL, Virus and Spam filters.
  • Open standards and open-source software/tools.
  • Network/systems security.
  • Development and implementation of new networks and their services.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting Networks/Systems.
  • Scripting (PHP, Perl, Python, etc.).
  • Proficiency in graphic design software, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, etc.
  • Ability to update and maintain website.
  • Ability to write and edit technical documents, including proposals, reports, etc.
